Automated chemistry analyser with programmable software
23 Jan 2015
The ChemWell-T chemistry analyser, now available with the rAPID-T software, is ideal for many applications, including beverage manufacturing and development, and within the pharmaceutical sector.
Water testing and agricultural analyses are two of the most productive areas of application for the ChemWell-T analyser/ rAPID-T software package – which provides a precise, durable and economical way of running colorimetric tests that may currently be run manually.
Water testing, including drinking water monitoring and wastewater treatment, uses many of the ion/nutrient analysis methods established by the US Environmental Protection Agency and Standard Methods.
Typical analysis rates are up to 50 – 90 samplers per hour, depending on testing requirements and the optional 50mm Liquid Waveguide Capillary Cell (LWCC) can result in a 5x to x10 detection improvement.
Agricultural labs will also benefit from the analyser’s ability to determine ions/nutrient levels in plants, feeds and soils in order to optimise crop yields.
Tests like Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ortho-phosphate, TKN, and Total Phosphorus have analysis rates of 45 – 120 samples/hour with the built-in QA protocols in the FASPac.
Furthermore, the 10mm path length cuvettes, with working volume up to 500 µl, mean that the ChemWell-T is easy to load and unload.
As many as 40 reactions can be carried out, using eight strips of five cuvettes, without intervention.
A ‘pause’ function also allows for cuvettes to be added during a run. With reaction temperature from ambient to 40ºC, the multi-function probe delivers 2 µl to 450 µl and detects the liquid surface, retracting if it contacts an obstacle.
