Guided wave radars from VEGA
1 Apr 2015
Marchwood Power is currently one of the most efficient power stations in the UK.
In the under-slung condenser vessel, three VEGA Guided Wave Radars are now used to measure and control the level.
It is a critical part of the generating process; reliability and accuracy of measurement is crucial, so the three devices employ two out of three voting.
They have replaced a ‘traditional’ DP transmitter system that had wet legs and condensate pots.
The guided wave radars are mounted in bypass chambers making a direct measurement of the condensate water level and have eliminated systematic drift, reduced recalibration and the occurrence of nuisance trips, by providing a more reliable measurement.
