Positive displacement pumps manufacturer Verder has acquired German pumps company Ponndorf Gerätetechnik as part of a move to strengthen its global position.
Ponndorf produces a range of hose pumps and also specialises in additional individual pump and control solutions.
“With this acquisition, we further strengthen our position as a leading solutions provider for peristaltic hose and tube pumps and enhances our global market position for a wide range of industries,” said Verder Liquids managing director John Hoorneman.
Hoorneman added that he looked forward to combining Verder’s research and application expertise with Ponndorf.
Verder will integrate Ponndorf pumps into the Verderflex range of peristaltic pumps, but Ponndorf will continue to serve its own dealer network with its existing range of Ponndorf-branded pumps.
“The new portfolio complements Verder’s peristaltic pump line, and bolsters our footprint in the global peristaltic pump market,” said Kenneth McCartney, managing director of Verderflex peristaltic pump production.
“We look forward to the cooperation,” he said.
The expansion of the Verder company has been in process since the 1970s, with Verder supplying products to Japan, China and the US in addition to its core European market.
