PMX platform for engine testing
14 Oct 2015
HBM has developed a technology platform designed to improve the performance of engine tests within the automotive industry.
The PMX measuring amplifier system has been incorporated into the new platform, and has been designed so that future engines will meet future standards based on their fuel efficiency.
It offers noise-free measurement and precise process control, and also features expanded scaling and filtering options for recording torque.
HBM has also implemented the crank angle synchronous moving average (CASMA) filter into the system. This new design is used to form a CASMA for determining cylinder-dependent torque distribution.
PMX generates characteristic quantities, such as power, mean and peak values and torque using the PID (proportional integral derivative) controller.
The platform’s open communication interfaces combines with HBM torque sensors to ensure efficient test processes for a range of automotive applications.
Features:
- Noise-free measurement
- Precise process control
- Expanded scaling and filtering options
- Automated detection
- Open communication interface
