Progress gas analysers improve efficiency
4 Nov 2015
Quantitech has launched a new range of progress gas analysers, based on tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS).
TDLAS analysers are used to improve process efficiency.
According to the company, in reheat furnaces monitoring oxygen and carbon monoxide, use of these instruments can save users 5-10% of fuel costs.
Using ‘single-line’ spectroscopy, the laser gas analyser (LGA) range can be configured for continuous analysis of a number of key compounds.
Applications can include ammonia slip control, furnace oxygen optimisation, flue gas monitoring, and cross-duct CO monitoring for electrostatic precipitator safety.
From an operational perspective, costs and service requirements are low as there are no moving parts, and therefore there is no need for consumables or spare parts.
Calibration checks can have intervals as long as six months due to the stability of the technique, combined with built-in continuous self-checking.
