Show Preview: March of Maintec
25 Feb 2016
The Maintec exhibition is set to return to Birmingham’s NEC next month.
The UK’s annual maintenance, plant and asset management event is on track to be bigger than ever before, say event organisers.
The show will feature a brand new seminar programme, an expanded show floor and a wealth of top industry suppliers.
“We have an array of top exhibitors and masses of show floor entertainment lined up for our visitors,” says Daniel Gray, Maintec show organiser.
As well as presenting the latest technologies and future business opportunities to visitors, a new seminar programme will also offer attendees interesting and relevant educational content, adds Gray.
Seminars
The new Maintec seminar programme will include two keynote speakers for each day of the show, alongside a host of exhibitor presentations.
Targeted at those in the manufacturing, distribution, engineering and maintenance industries, experts from leading organisations will be discussing the latest industry trends and innovations, and sharing their knowledge and first-hand experiences.
Many of the big names from the industry will be returning to Maintec this year, alongside some new exhibitors
Phil Reeves, vice president of Stratasys Consulting will discuss the ‘Potential for 3D printing in the maintenance function’ in one of the keynotes.
Another keynote presentation comes from Paul Hingley, CMR Business Manager at Siemens Customer Services, who will discuss ‘Where maintenance collides with Industry 4.0 and the internet of things’.
Also among the speakers is Alan Gane, maintenance manager at Jaguar Land Rover who will discuss the topic of ‘Developing Maintenance Skills’.
Exhibitors
Many of the big names from the industry will be returning to Maintec this year, alongside some new exhibitors.
The current exhibitor list includes Atlas Copco Compressors, Fluke, Flotech Performance Systems, Hansford Sensors, Shire Systems, AV Technology and UE Systems.
Alongside a wide range of innovative maintenance products and services, show organisers say visitors can expect to see cost-cutting solutions, increased productivity best practises and higher ROI methods for their businesses.
Shire Systems, for instance, will be launching its new Pirana CMMS. This integrated maintenance management system features cost-saving and strategic decision-making functionality. It has also introduced new mobile applications for work orders, materials and data collection, which can be used both online or offline.
Hansford Sensors will showcase its selection of vibration monitoring solutions. This includes the HS-100 series – an AC industrial accelerometer that offers vibration measurement for rotating machine components.
It will also present the HS-620 Vibration Monitoring Kit, which enables maintenance technicians to measure bearing condition and levels of velocity, acceleration and displacement.
UE Systems will showcase the Ultraprobe 401 Digital Grease Caddy Pro, which has the ability to measure, data log and trend the amount of lubricant used in order to optimise equipment maintenance.
Keytracker will exhibit a range of products, from the original Peg in-Peg out board to Electronic Key Management Systems, Key Control Software and iLockerz Intelligent locker Systems.
Technical Training Solutions will be presenting its range of practical industrial engineering skills training courses, including Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Skills, PLC Faultfinding, Instrumentation, 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
PAR Group will be showcasing its range of rubber plastic and insulation products developed for a wide range of industries including chemical, brewing, mining and quarrying, aerospace, power generation, packaging, recycling and distribution.
Also at the show, Exel Computer Systems will exhibit its Eagle Field Service system, which is a mobile management solution that provides real-time information and resources to field based engineers directly to their mobile device.
Additional shows
Maintec 2016 will once again be running alongside two industry shows which organisers say will offer great relevance for maintenance professionals.
The first is Facilities Management 2016, which show organisers say is the only UK event that focuses on the large scale and multi-site facilities industry.
It will also feature the Cleaning Zone which focuses on buyers and suppliers from within the cleaning industry, showcasing top innovations at the heart of the facilities industry.
The second co-location is the Health and Safety Event, run by Western Business Exhibitions, which organisers have described as an excellent addition for the many Maintec visitors with a wider health & safety remit.
Visitors will be able to access all three shows with one badge.
Networking opportunities
The Maintec 2016 official networking drinks will take place on Tuesday March 22. Attendees will also have full access to the Networking Bar throughout the event, say organisers, where they will have the opportunity to meet with industry peers and network with like-minded individuals.
