SEEPEX has supplied several progressive cavity pumps to Bristol Water as part of a new electro-chlorination plant installed to generate the large volumes of sodium hypochlorite needed for drinking water treatment.
Bristol Water’s aim is to improve safety on the site by reducing the amount of stored chlorine, as well as treat the problems associated with zebra mussels in water intake pipes
The pumps provide a steady, virtually pulsation free flow of hypochlorite that can be accurately metered at flow rates between 500L and 3m3/hr, says SEEPEX.
Reliable operation, ease of maintenance and low lifecycle costs have, says the company, been delivered by the pumps which are installed vertically to provide a small footprint.
