Veolia ramps up wastewater solutions
3 May 2016
Veolia Water Technologies has extended its range of heat pump vacuum evaporators, targeting smaller cosmetics and pharmaceutical manufacturers that currently dispose of liquid waste offsite.
Incineration of waste or complex chemical treatment can be expensive solutions, the company said.
The new Evaled PC series was developed to help reduce waste volume by up to 90% by allowing users to recycling more water and recover raw materials including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), disinfectants, proteins and glycols.
Low temperature evaporation enables users to recover heat sensitive materials from waste, Veolia said.
With an average electrical consumption of only 0.15 kWh per litre of distillate, the unit also boasts a low-carbon footprint.
The Evaled PC range is available in two options. The PC F Series uses forced circulation to achieve high distillate quality for capacities of up to 24,000 litres per day.
The PC R Series, with capacity of up to 2,000 litres per day, uses scraped film technology to achieve high concentrations, reducing the volume of waste for disposal, even with high viscosity or foaming waste.
