AkzoNobel scoops work placement employer award

Specialty chemicals and paints producer AkzoNobel has won the Industrial Cadets Employer of the Year for providing workplace experiences for students in their local community.
AkzoNobel have run a Silver Level Industrial Cadet Award with schools near their Slough base since 2013.
Industrial Cadets is an influential workplace experience accreditation for activities with young people from their local communities The scheme is currently used by 250 employers and 800 schools, benefiting more than 10,000 young people and accrediting over 200,000 learner hours of workplace experience.
This year’s awards event was the first of its kind and attended by the leaders of many of the UK’s top industrial companies with contributions from Prince Charles and sstronaut Tim Peak.
The Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by The Telegraph, recognises an employer who has made an outstanding effort in providing high quality experiences for students and promoting STEM careers to young people.
