Seepex progressive cavity pumps (PCPs) aim to deliver process improvements to client sites (including Thames Water) by replacing existing piston pumps and thereby reducing operating and onward sludge transport costs.
The Seepex pumps transfer de-watered digested sludge to storage silos before final disposal without increasing system costs, says the company.
Progressive cavity pumps can also be provided in different versions and materials to meet specific application requirements.
Seepex’s open hopper pumps transfer the higher ds% sludge with 50% reduced power consumption (15KW compared to 31KW) and up to 75% reduced discharge pressure due to the low pulsation flow characteristics.
The company adds that the system delivers a hat-trick of cost reductions: lower sludge disposal costs, lower energy use and reduced maintenance costs.
