Festo has produced an eBook that discussess how to save costs when selecting process valve solutions.
The company says that by considering just a few of an application’s basic requirements, users can easily find the right valve control solution for their process automation needs.
The eBook covers various topics including: which material is right for the relevant media (for example, is a stainless steel ball valve or brass valve most suitable?) and choosing the correct pressure rating which can have significant cost and energy implications.
Other areas covered are: deciding on the correct operating pressure; how to optimise actuator selection; evaluating safety requirements; and the question over whether lubrication is still necessary.
