24 Oct 2017
Greg Clarke, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has been confirmed as one of the headline speakers at the EEF’s forthcoming National Manufacturing Conference.
The event, to be held in London on 20 February 2018 under the banner ‘Global Britain: Change, Opportunity, Growth’, will focus on the post-Brexit landscape and prospects for UK manufacturing and engineering.
Outgoing chief executive Terry Scuoler said: “With Brexit on the horizon, our conference comes at a critical time for industry which has a key role to play in ensuring that post-Brexit Britain is a great success.
“This conference provides an important collaborative platform for industry and Government to work together. Government departments across the Brexit agenda must continue to work hand in hand with industry in order to tease out the best way forward as we form the post Brexit landscape.”
Joining the minister will be a range of industry leaders and commentators including The Financial Times’ chief economics commentator Martin Wolf and deputy managing director of Toyota Motor manufacturing UK Tony Walker.
Besides Brexit there will also be a focus on the growing issue of cyber security with a session chaired by Ewan Lawson of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
