Deadline approaches for nuclear bursary scheme
13 Feb 2018
Applicants seeking to develop a career in the sector have until 9 March to apply for this year’s Nuclear Bursary Scheme.
The bursary is funded through National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN), the Nuclear Decommissioning Agency (NDA) and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).
Candidates can include individuals working in, or aspiring to work within NSAN and ECITB member supply chain companies – primarily aimed at small to medium enterprise companies.
Funding can support those on placements, internships, secondments and study programmes relevant to the industry.
Bursary awards are only available to support those programmes which are outside the remit of apprenticeships.
The Nuclear Bursary was developed in response to the Nuclear Skills Strategy Group’s (NSSG) Delivery Plan which addresses the issues identified in the NSSG Skills Strategy.
The strategy includes the requirement to ‘identify and channel available funds into bursaries and other specific initiatives to ensure timely recruitment and investment in skills’.
