Lorien Engineering Solutions has completed a multi-million pound refurbishment for Addo Food Group’s Tottle Bakery site in Nottingham without any production downtime.
Lorien was appointed as designer and project manager for the 12-month, multi-million pound project, which has seen manufacturing areas further enhanced to meet the large-scale needs of the major UK multiple.
Tottle Bakery is the only UK manufacturer with process capability in every type of pork pie manufacturing. It makes and distributes more than 40 million pork pies each year.
The bakery is the home of the Pork Farms and Bowyers brands and is one of six Addo Food Group business locations around the UK.
Tony Ombler, general manager of the Tottle Bakery, commented: “It took the pressure off our internal resources and allowed our focus to remain entirely on production.”
The year-long investment project, led by a team of specialist utilities engineers from Lorien, reaffirms Tottle Bakery’s position at the forefront of FMCG manufacture and signifies the Group’s commitment to meeting the needs of the UK’s major multiples.
Phil Colquhoun, senior project manager at Lorien Engineering Solutions, said: “We are delighted to work closely with the technical team at Addo Food Group in bringing a major project such as this to completion on time, within budget, and with no production downtime.”
