Additional industrial network interfaces in Bürkert’s Type 8691 control head make it suitable for communications between valves and higher-level automation systems.
Industry 4.0 focuses on data exchange within industrial processes as part of creating a smart factory. The ability to communicate seamlessly down to component level is something Bürkert is enabling with its range of ‘smart’ valve products.
The new Type 8691 control head is now equipped with IO-Link and büS interfaces, in addition to the pre-existing fieldbus interface, AS-Interface, and DeviceNet.
Clearly visible LEDs display the valve position status, enabling at-a-glance assessments of process conditions. The control head is ATEX II Cat. 3G/D/IECEx approved, easy to clean and resistant to chemicals and intrusion by dust and water, says the company.
Suitable for hygienic processes in the food and beverage or pharmaceutical industries, the Type 8691 is simple to install and commission, while reducing operating and maintenance costs.
