HPS, the global specialists in liquid product recovery and transfer solutions, has released a new guide entitled ‘A Guide to Product Recovery (Pigging) for the Process Industries’.
The guide is aimed at companies that process liquids, including those in the food, beverages, cosmetics, personal care, pet food, household and paint processing industries.
The document provides an overview of pigging, including how it works, the benefits, types of pigging systems, plus much more. It also has real-life cases and insights into how pigging is benefiting companies that process liquids.
Pigging is an industrial process that recovers residual product from pipelines. Without pigging, the residual product would go to waste. The process uses a specialist projectile (the ‘pig’), which fits compactly to the pipelines and so pushes out practically all of the product to its destination. This significantly improves product yields, while also increasing the capacity of the plant.
