UK firms dominate IChemE process safety shortlist

The UK offices of AstraZeneca, Esso, Fluor and Sellafield, together with trade organisation the Chemical Industries Association, have been shortlisted for the Process Safety category of this year’s IChemE Global Awards 2018.
More than 100 entries from around the world are included in the various award lists, with winners to be announced at the event in Manchester, UK on 1 November.
Staged in association with Johnson Matthey, the event celebrates excellence and achievement in chemical, biochemical and process engineering.
This year’s line-up includes the new IChemE Pharma Award (sponsored by PM Group) and the IChemE Diversity and Inclusion Award (sponsored by BP). The best entry across all categories will receive the IChemE Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering Award (sponsored by ExxonMobil).
IChemE chief executive Jon Prichard said: “Once again, we’ve had a wonderful variety of entries to this year’s awards, showcasing innovation, technical progression, and a dedication to advancing the profession to make the world a better place.”
