BSC honours round-the-world safety winners

Sixty-five organisations from around the globe shared 74 top awards from the British Safety Council for their management of health, safety and environmental risk.
A total of 61 received the Sword of Honour, with 13 Globe of Honour recipients. The lineup included nine organisations that have won in both categories.
Double winners included: Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) UAE, Qatargas Operating Company Limited – Commercial and Shipping Group, Mount Anvil Ltd – Royal Docks West, Mount Anvil Ltd – Kampus Project, MACE International Technology – CLN Ireland, MACE International Technology – AMS Amsterdam, BAE Systems Naval Ships, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP).
BSC chief executive Mike Robinson congratulated the winners and their staff for “their huge commitment to keeping their workplaces safe and healthy and minimising risks to the environment from their organisations’ day-to-day activities”.
“This year’s result has proven that there is a worldwide recognition of the belief that no one should be injured or made ill at work,” he stated.
“The awards process and the final ceremony are an excellent opportunity to celebrate their success and encourage other organisations everywhere to follow their lead, further strengthening the case for good health and safety at work.”
