The company that created the first full automated gas filling plant has launched a rival site now billed as the most modern in the world.
AGA Enköping site in Sweden boasts an entirely automated production flow from sorting to filling, storage, and picking.
Constructed at a cost of €40 million with six existing sites consolidated into the new plant, it will handle approximately 1.8 million cylinder-fillings per year.
“The facility in Enköping is unique. It is the most modern gas cylinder filling plant with fully automatic cylinder handling. This provides numerous benefits to our customers and employees alike in terms of quality, safety and work environment”, stated Andreas Opfermann, CEO of AGA Gas.
Smart robots handle most processes and do most of the heavy lifting explained production and distribution manager Tobias Vikberg with the main tasks of the operators changed to monitoring systems and to loading andunloading of ttrucks.
“Also, the business becomes data-driven and we can continuously measure, evaluate and optimize our processes," added Vikberg.
Two years ago, AGA transformed its gas cylinder filling plant in Riihimäki, Finland – responsible for producing 700,000 cylinders annually – into the first fully automated industrial gas filling plant.
