Handling issues including segregation, caking/lumping, particle damage and irregular discharge/flow stoppages are covered in at least one of the courses at the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology at the University of Greenwich in February 2020.
These start on 4 February with Measurement of the Properties and Bulk Behaviour of Particulate Materials – an overview for determining bulk behaviour of particulate materials.
Next, on 5 February, is Un-desired Deblending and Separation in Processes – identification of common segregation mechanisms and how to minimise the effects.
Electrostatics in Power Handling – the cause and effect of electrostatic charging in bulk solids handling – features on 12 February.
The final course on 19 February is Dust Control for Processes – examining prevention, capture and extraction methods.
