Siemens defies UK economic downturn to hire nearly 30 young recruits
20 Jan 2021
Siemens has hired a total of 26 young graduates and apprentices in order to boost its growing digital workforce.
The newcomers will be based at the firm’s Digital Industries division at both the Siemens' UK headquarters in Manchester and its award-winning digital factory in Congleton.
A spokesperson said the recruitment would help school leavers, university students and graduates during the current shortage in career opportunities, as the economy battles against the effect of the COVID lockdown.
They added that the move would also Siemens contribute to solving the long-running skills gap in the technology, manufacturing and engineering industries.
To date, Siemens’ intern, apprenticeship and graduate careers programme already accounts for around one in ten of its 1,000-strong workforce.
