Further postponement but PIA vows event will go ahead in autumn

The long-running saga of the Pump Industry Awards took a further turn as the top sector event has declared yet another revised date for its next ceremony.
Already rechristened the 2020/21 Pump Indiustry Awards Ceremony after two failed attempts last year, its most recent planned date had been 1 July.
But faced with continued uncertainty as to whether the Government relaxation of locakdown rules would allow the awards to proceeed satisfactorily, organiser Touchwave Media and host The British Pump Manufacturers’ Association opted to shift the date to 23 September, with Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth remaining the venue.
Commenting on the decision, Steve Schofield, CEO at the BPMA said: ““Although our hand has once again been forced, with the roadmap now in place, and the prospect of a population-wide rollout of the vaccination programme by the Autumn, I’m sure all will support this responsible approach.
This year marks the PIA show’s 20th anniversary and the BPMA’s 80th year.
