Having finally staged the postponed 2020/21 Pump Industry Awards ceremony to great applause in late September 2021, the event once again achieved its goal of recognising and rewarding business and professional excellence right across the pump industry.
However, despite the enforced delay in announcing the latest set of awards winners, the British Pump Manufacturers Association is already seeking nominations for the 2022 Pump Industry Awards.
With a return to the usual early spring dateline, the next gala dinner and presentation ceremony will take place on Thursday 31 March and will again be staged at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
The online entry forms, which seek submissions for activities and achievements that took place in the two-year period up to December 2021, are now available on the dedicated awards website with the entry deadline set for Friday 7 January 2022.
Throughout the pandemic, and especially through lockdown, the pump sector played a key role in ensuring utilities, manufacturing processes and essential services were maintained, and so for the 2022 award programme, special recognition will go to those companies and individuals who have gone that extra mile to meet any additional demands and challenges brought about by Covid.
This additional acknowledgement will go hand in hand with the existing nine award categories, that collectively honour the full breadth of product and service offering across the pump industry:
- Product of the Year - Sponsored by Process Engineering
- Project of the Year – Sponsored by Stuart Turner
- Environmental Contribution of the Year – Sponsored by SPP Pumps
- Manufacturer of the Year – Sponsored by WEG UK
- Distributor of the Year – Sponsor sought
- Supplier of the Year – Sponsored by Wilo
- Contribution to Skills & Training – Sponsor sought
- Rising Star Award – Sponsored by World Pumps
- Lifetime Contribution – Sponsored by BPMA
Once again, support and backing has been secured from a host of leading brands, all of whom recognise the value and importance of promoting excellence across the sector.
In addition to the main category sponsors (highlighted above), John Crane and Saniflo have been signed up to support some specific elements of the 2022 presentation evening. Several other sponsorship opportunities exist in case other companies would like their brands aligned to outstanding engineering achievement.
I would encourage all those involved in this important sector of ours to prepare and submit their entries for the 2022 awards programme
Steve Schofield, director and CEO, British Pump Manufacturers Association
Steve Schofield, director and CEO at the British Pump Manufacturers Association, commented: “Our last awards ceremony was a long time coming, but despite numerous postponements, the 20th Anniversary event was as good as any I can remember. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the competition intense. The quality of entries was extremely high, which simply echoes the creativity and engineering skill that exists within the sector. Our congratulations go to all the winners for their excellent achievements, but our acknowledgment and appreciation must also go to each and every nominee and finalist.
He continued: ”Business and professional excellence deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated and the Pump Industry Awards do just that. As such, I would encourage all those involved in this important sector of ours to prepare and submit their entries for the 2022 awards programme.”
Long-time supporter, Marek Lukasczcyk, European and Middle East marketing manager at WEG (UK) Ltd, added: “It has always been a pleasure to support the BPMA and the wider pump industry by sponsoring this long-standing and prestigious event, which helps promote engineering excellence. The evening is always a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all those in our party, and we look forward to another superb event in March next year.”
