PIA scores on achievement

English football played host to the resurgent Pump Industry Awards, staged at the famous St George’s Park in Staffordshire – home to the National Football Centre.
As a raft of leading industry names and rising stars were honoured, the occasion also marked the impending retirement of Steve Schofield, CEO of awards host the British Pump Manufacturers Association.
Schofield, who boasts nearly half a century in in the pump industry, has spent nearly half that time working for the BPMA and played a key role in its development received a public thanks from the association board and council.
In keeping with the setting, this year’s guest presenter was footballing legend Kevin Keegan who provided the after-dinner entertainment and helped conduct the awards ceremony
The awards which celebrated acheivement in the period up to December 2022, included eight category winners:

Tomlinson Hall business development director Colin Simpson stated: “It’s always a pleasure to be part of such a fantastic evening, and this year’s event will rank as one of my personal favourites. The atmosphere created by the venue was fantastic and to have Kevin Keegan as the guest speaker was inspired. Everyone I spoke to thoroughly enjoyed the event, which was reflected by the networking that continued long after the formalities had been concluded.”
Event director Andrew Castle, thanked sponsors including Process Engineering “whose support and commitment enables us to stage such an event, and of course to all the entrants, whose high calibre submissions made for another demanding judging panel session”. A total of £1620 was raised on the night for the event’s chosen charity, Water Aid
