5 Apr 2023
There’s just a few weeks till the return of one of the UK’s leading water industry exhibitions, the Water Equipment Show (WES), presented by The Pump Centre and back at the International Centre, Telford on Thursday 11 May.
More than 90 exhibitors and almost 30 expert speakers will feature, with a wide range of equipment and services available from many of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers and contractors. Meanwhile, the array of technical conference and breakout sessions reflect the show’s considerable impact on the UK water industry.
It’s a unique opportunity for delegates to get up to speed with latest Water Industry issues. Attendees can take part in the in-depth technical sessions which will discuss industry-leading themes, they can browse the exhibition featuring many of the UK’s leading water industry suppliers, and they will have the opportunity to discover solutions and strategies for tackling the water industry’s leading challenges.
For 2023 the show has chosen ‘Delivering a step change in efficiency’ as its primary theme. In the water industry, a strategic approach to delivering more ambitious water efficiency is vital now and in the future. Look out soon for the new issue of Pump Action where there will be more on this year’s theme will be found on page 11.

Away from the main conference, there are plenty of opportunities for the delegates to learn about various aspects of efficiency improvement and to develop their general industry knowledge via the breakout sessions.
For 2023 the breakout talks are loosely grouped under the topics Pumps & Pumping, Water Industry Equipment and Technology & Innovation. The presentations cover a wide range of subjects including:
- Pump and blower selection
- Net zero pump manufacture
- Pump degradation
- Life cycle and lowest costs of ownership
- Pumping station inlet design
- Maintenance and condition monitoring
Again, this year Pump Centre consultants have been asked to provide their popular independent training talks. Likely topics include:
- Pump replacement – the key considerations
- Centrifugal pumps and variable speed drives
- What pump cavitation is and how to avoid it
These sessions are suitable for professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including recent graduates, as well as those who are new to the water industry.
EXHIBITION
Feedback from the delegates confirms that an impressive part of the Water Equipment Show is the display of products, equipment and services on show within the exhibition. For 2023, you will be able to see exhibition stands from more than 90 of the UK water industry’s leading suppliers, many of whom are sponsoring the event.
As last year, a Showcase Area will feature in the foyer of the International Centre, where the main sponsors can display featured products. This space will be the first thing that delegates see when entering the venue and it will highlight where to go to find more information about these showcased items.
By attending the Water Equipment Show 2023 you will be able to network with key industry players, see and discuss all the latest innovation and technology, and learn lots about how to deliver a step change in efficiency.
