29 Jan 2025
Corporate social responsibility rating agency EcoVadis has awarded its Platinum sustainability certificate to Jungheinrich – the fourth consecutive year that the company has won the citation.
In a statement, the firm said the win consolidated its position among the top one per cent of the world's most sustainable companies and recognised its commitment to the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
"The platinum certification confirms our consistent commitment to sustainability. We have a corporate and personal responsibility to leave a world worth living in for future generations. For us, it is a matter of course to fulfil this responsibility," stated Dr Lars Brzoska, chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG.
Referencing Jungheinrich's performance in environmental protection EcoVadis noted it expanded its climate protection measures during 2024 and increased its transparency regarding the emissions of its vehicles by calculating the product carbon footprint of numerous product series.
This analysis provides information on the CO2e emissions of the vehicles throughout their entire life cycle, including resource extraction, production, transport and use to disposal.
More than 150,000 companies worldwide are analysed by EcoVadis on their sustainability management.
This is measured in terms of the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The platinum award is awarded only to the top percentile of firms examined measured for sustainability.
