Metrohm is proud to introduce the 2060 RISE (Raman Intelligent SEnsor), its new generation inline Raman spectrometer developed to drive real-time process monitoring and asset intelligence for industry.
With its rapid measurement capability, rugged design and flexible architecture, the 2060 RISE empowers manufacturers to improve quality, reduce downtime and make more informed decisions across operations.
Real time insight, faster decisions
The 2060 RISE is designed to deliver high-speed spectral analysis in situ, allowing process engineers to identify materials, detect contaminants and monitor reaction progress in under five seconds. Because it operates inline it removes the need for time consuming sampling and offline analysis. This capability gives manufacturers the insight to maintain product quality, quickly react to changes and optimise throughput.
Its chemical free operation delivers environmentally-friendly performance and reduces ongoing reagent costs. The system’s rugged IP66 enclosure ensures that it can survive tough industrial environments without compromising measurement reliability.
Scalable architecture, simple control
One of the unique strengths of the 2060 RISE is its modular scalability. A single 2060 Human Interface (HI) can manage up to four groups of 2060 RISE sensors, and each group can host as many as four sensors. In total this allows one HI to control up to 16 sensor units. These sensors may be spread across different areas, even up to one kilometre away from the HI, enabling flexible layout and facility integration.
This architecture allows operators to grow their sensor network as needed without wholesale reinvestment. The Human Interface is designed for ease of use with limited operator training, offering intuitive control and access to data.
Engineered for longevity and adaptability
Metrohm offers multiple versions of the 2060 RISE to match diverse process conditions. The standard 2060 RISE?GP is ideal for general applications, while the high temperature version 2060 RISE-HT is designed to endure more extreme conditions. The platform is built from high grade stainless steel 316, with optional materials such as Hastelloy or titanium available to meet specialised requirements.
One standout design feature is the sapphire window compression mechanism. This innovation eliminates the need for seals or O-rings, reducing maintenance demands and improving reliability. For processes reaching up to 150°C the device can be supplemented with optional purge systems or cooling modules to maintain safety and performance.
Process analytical technology reimagined
Adopting inline Raman as a Process Analytical Technology (PAT) offers distinct advantages in process control. The 2060 RISE enables continuous monitoring of critical process steps such as reaction kinetics, polymer extrusions, fermentation, mixing and more. In pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing contexts this means tighter compliance, fewer off-spec batches and enhanced yield control.
Beyond reaction monitoring it is also adept at raw material assessment and impurity detection at early stages. With that information operators can swiftly detect deviations from quality norms and safeguard both product integrity and consistency. The system can also be deployed to monitor stored materials, reducing risks of degradation and improving inventory management.
Seamless integration with sample conditioning and software
Metrohm offers full support for sample preconditioning systems, piping, wiring, shelters and other integration components to ensure a smooth on site startup. Whether your process requires filtration, dilution or pressure control, the company can provide a custom package tailored to your application.
On the software front the 2060 RISE comes with automated spectroscopy software built for ease and clarity. A graphical timeline gives users clear visibility into analyser progress. Users may define alarms to report status changes or out of bound conditions. Data may be shared via Modbus or discrete I/O connectivity, and analysis is powered by Metrohm’s Vision engine to present results in an accessible format.
Applications across industries and environments
With more than 10,000 process analysers installed across the globe, Metrohm has deep experience across sectors from chemicals and pharmaceuticals to mining, fertilisers and more. The 2060 RISE is well suited to environments ranging from ambient temperature processes to those exceeding 150°C, and can be specified in explosion proof configurations where hazardous atmospheres are present.
Because of its ruggedness, ease of installation and scalability the 2060 RISE is ideal for use in complex plants where multiple networked measurements are required. Metrohm’s reputation in process analysis and decades of application knowledge help ensure users can deploy a solution that fits tightly to their challenges.
