Measuring turbidity
15 Jun 2004
Emerson Process Management's Clarity II turbidimeter enables drinking water plants to continuously monitor turbidity levels on-line to ensure the protection of water quality, while meeting EPA requirements as well as international ISO standards.
The turbidimeter itself consists of an analyser, which accepts either one or two sensors, the sensors themselves, and a debubbler/measuring chamber and a cable for each sensor. The cable plugs into the sensor and the analyser, making setup fast and easy. Sensors can be located as far as 50 ft (15.2 m) away from the analyser and, to simplify programming, the analyser automatically detects whether an EPA 180.1 or ISO 7027 sensor is being used.
Because it measures turbidity as high as 200 NTU, Clarity II is also suitable for most raw waters. Examples are monitoring wastewater discharges, condensate returns, and clarifiers.
The turbidimeter will be demonstrated at AWWA 2004 in booth number 2361, June 13-17, 2004, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
