On-line analysers extended
7 Jun 2004
The AX430 single input and AX433 dual input conductivity transmitters extend ABB's AnalyzeIT AX400 range of on-line analysers into new application areas.
The new transmitters can be used in maintaining wash-solution strengths in bottle washing processes, monitoring concentrations in CIP (cleaning in place) plants, regeneration of ion exchange columns in power generation applications, and in the control of conductivity and pH in the pulp and paper industry.
Featuring integrated three-term PID control, the transmitters also incorporate a host of standard features for reliability and ease of maintenance.
A Long Dose Alarm, for example, warns of potential problems with reagent supply where dosing continues beyond a set period of time.
An Initial Charge function also prevents the triggering of spurious alarms by over-riding the long dose alarm to allow sufficient time for fresh cleaning solution to be made up to the correct strength.
The AX433 dual input version enables users to dose both alkali and acid in ion exchange regeneration applications using the same transmitter, giving a 30% cost saving over the use of two separate transmitters - with the same cost savings achievable in CIP and pulp and paper plants.
