Oil-free, energy-efficient air

Atlas Copco's new AQ range of water-injected screw compressors is said to combine the benefits of pure oil-free air, a high-pressure capability, and improved energy efficiency - the result of extremely effective cooling of the unit.
At the heart of the AQ is a water-injected screw element that produces near-isothermal compression and contributes to a compression energy efficiency increase of around 20% over more traditional methods.
The compression element features a new techology of optimised-profile polymer ceramic rotors, supported by water-lubricated hydrodynamic and hydrostatic bearings.
Atlas Copco says the total absence of oil or grease in the compression element absolutely guarantees the delivery of pure oil-free air. With no need for oil cooling, there are no oil separators, no oil stop valves, no oil filters and no check valves.
The AQ series is available in 30, 37, 45 and 55kW fixed speed and 55kW VSD variants, with three pressure ratings of 7.5, 10 and 13bar.
Classified as a 'workplace air system' due to its silent operation, the compressor includes the proven range of IFD refrigeration air dryers, ensuring the desired quality of air can be met at all times.
