Westinghouse unit awarded $14 million
2 Feb 2004
Westinghouse Electric today announced its Repair, Replacement and Automation Services (RRAS) unit has won a $14 million contract to provide a range of replacement parts and services to Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.
The contract calls for Westinghouse RRAS to provide two sets of reactor coolant pump internals, hydraulic nuts and studs, and full-scope pump and motor change-out field services. The new equipment will be supplied to support Diablo Canyon's autumn 2005 and spring 2006 refuelling outages.
Westinghouse also announced that it would perform off-site chemical decontamination and rebuild services for pumps that will be removed from the plant.
This post-outage work is scheduled to begin at Westinghouse's WaltzMill site near Madison, Pennsylvania, beginning in 2006.
'The comprehensive package of field, shop and engineering services is one of the largest integrated pump and motor product and services contracts ever received by Westinghouse,' commented Michele M. DeWitt, vice president of Westinghouse RRAS.
