Siemens Automation & Drives' two-wire Sitrans LR20 pulse radar instrument is designed for level measurement in liquid bulk storage in tank farms or in simple process vessels.
An instrinsically safe handheld unit allows the meter to be programmed remotely, without opening the lid.
The unit has a built-in alphanumeric display which operates in several languages and a rotating head that lines up for easy wiring. It also features automatic false echo suppression and 'Sonic Intelligence' signal processing technologies.
To simplify chemical compatibility, its rod antenna is made of a single material. The 'Uni-Construction' rod consists of a one and a half inch threaded connection, shield and wetted parts, all made from the same grade of polypropylene. All these components are hermetically sealed, and an internal, integrated shield prevents nozzle interference.
Protection against aggressive environments is provided by a polyester powder-coated aluminium enclosure, while the encapsulation of the electronics protects the unit against shock, vibration and chemical attack.
