Filter presses take the pressure
15 Jan 2000
The A-H range of high pressure air driven diaphragm pumps for the loading of filter presses with chemical waste and slurries, developed by Almatec, is now available from Chem Resist.
With a maximum supply pressure of 7bar the pumps create internally a discharge pressure up to 16bar as a result of the internal pressure booster.
Because both product chambers actually transfer liquid, the capacity of the three sizes available reach maxima of 4, 10 and 20m3/h,.
The air-driven pumps offer several advantages over conventional electric displacement pumps. They are safe to run dry and at over pressure and you can leave them running against a closed discharge without danger of damage.
The principle advantage of the AH range is that the pressure/capacity ratio may be automatically controlled. The low resistance of the filter press enables quick filling of the empty press.
