Refinery deal for BOC Gases

BP Amoco has awared BOC Gases the contract to build a £73million on-site hydrogen plant and industrial gases complex in Brisbane. The complex, which will serve the low-sulphur fuels production facility at BP Amoco's Queensland Bulwer Island refinery, will consist of a 750tonne/day air separation plant, a 78tonne/day partial oxidation hydrogen plant, and a carbon dioxide recovery unit. The hydrogen plant will start up in the fourth quarter of 2000.
