BOC agrees to joint takeover

BOC has accepted a joint offer from Air Liquide and Air Products, valuing the company at £14.60 per share, or around £7billion (see PE July/August, page 5). The deal is subject to approval from regulatory bodies, but the companies are aiming to complete it within six months. BOC chairman Danny Rosenkrantz is to retire upon completion of the deal.
