Core-in-kettle exchangers cut costs

Altec International's core-in-kettle brazed aluminium heat exchangers are designed to replace shell-and-tube exchangers with the benefits of lower installation costs, reduced operating costs, less replacement time and reduced horsepower requirements, says the company.
The core-in-kettle exchangers replace tube-bundles with brazed aluminium plate-fin exchangers. These plate-fin exchangers are smaller, lighter and pack in about ten times more surface area than comparable sized shell-and-tube exchangers. The aluminium design can withstand temperatures as low as -269 degrees C.
