Fisher-Rosemount aims for Coriolis cuts
15 Jan 2000
A new series of Coriolis meters from Fisher-Rosemount allows the Coriolis technique to be used for general-purpose flow applications for the first time, the company claims. The meters are more precise, and produce more repeatable measurements, than the DP-type meters that are generally used for these applications, and are priced competitively.
Some 85 per cent of flow measurement applications are classed as general purpose, F-R explains; these require 0.5 per cent accuracy or less, but need good repeatability. Until now, Coriolis meters were too expensive to justify for these uses, despite their inherent reliability and ease of maintenance.
The new R-series Coriolis meters, part of the extensive Micro Motion range of meters, are available in three sizes (1/4in, 1/2in or 1in) each priced at £1717.
