Replacing packs cuts downtime
15 Jan 2000
Rather than test plate heat exchangers for cracks and regasketting, Tetra Pak will now supply a new service to provide the customer with a replacement plate pack. The new service is intended to handle this routine requirement in a new way that will reduce downtime to the lowest possible level.
`The downtime caused by having to take a plate heat exchanger out of use in order for it to be regasketted can be very embarrassing and expensive to the customer,' says Steve Harlow, manager of after-sales at Tetra Pak.
This service is open to any company whose plate heat exchanger can be regasketted by Tetra Pak. `We can also look into the management of the expenditure with a staged payment option,' added Harlow.
