Queen's STAR is fast for meshes and plots
15 Jan 2000
Computational Dynamics (CD), which is moving to Hammersmith, West London, has released STAR-CD version 3.10, the upgrade. CD, which won a Queen's Award for Export for STAR-CD technology, has included the STAR GUIde graphical user interface.
Users are lead through the essential steps of CFD model building with easier meshing and faster plotting.
Version 3.10 can specify tabulated data for initial conditions and boundary properties, placing less reliance on user coding for less error prone case set-up.
Version 3.10 also has several new CFD features including extended coal combustion, improved free surface and cavitation modelling, extended surface-to-surface radiation, LES and cubic k-epsilon turbulence models, enhanced non-adiabatic PPDF and a new treatment of heat conduction.
