Separator creams off the fat for Express Dairies
15 Jan 2000
A new separator supplied to Express Dairies has increased production of standardised milk by 25,000 litres per hour. A whole processing line was supplied and commissioned by Tetra Pak, the integrated processing and packaging company.
The new line consists of an HMRPX 518 HGV Separator, a Tetra Alex 25 homogeniser, and a Tetra Alfast 210 standardisation system. The self-cleaning separator supplies the Tetra Alfast with skimmed milk and cream. Express Dairies has achieved greater control of fat levels in milk and cream, improved flexibility of operation and increased output of semi-skimmed milk. Tetra Pak claims its cascade control system combines the highest possible accuracy with a very fast response time.
