Water, water everywhere

French utilities firm Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux has bought US speciality chemicals producer Nalco Chemicals, based near Chicago, for $4.1billion. The US firm, which produces water treatment chemicals, is Lyonnaise's second US acquisition within a month; it has also bought Pittsburgh-based water treatment firm Calgon Corp for an undisclosed sum.
