Mag drive pump has 'zero leakage'
15 Jan 2000
Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps has extended its CPX range with the launch of the CPXS magnetic drive, sealless process pumps, that meet the ISO2858 standard.
The pumps are also available in close-coupled versions, known as the CPXSM range, which offer a compact design, to save on space and capital and installation costs.
The manufacturer claims that pumps with shaft seals normally exhibit minute leakage, but in the CPSX pumps a secondary containment system, comprising two static seals, ensures security.
However, Ingersoll Dresser Pumps adds that magnetic seals are not suitable for every application. Liquids at high temperature or those with a high concentration of solids, magnetic or polymeric materials may be better served by mechanical seals.
The CPXS range features 20 models, up to 300m3/h and heads up to 100m. These are available in a range of steels and alloys.
