Aimed at reducing system life-cycle costs, Controlstar from Calcam Control Systems is a family of products combining hardware integration with powerful Windows-based system configuration and diagnostic tools that can be used by normally-trained engineering staff, rather than specialist system integrators.
Controlstar is said to support a seamless integration with a number of Scada packages and to give open-system connectivity to other third-party systems.
Calcam says it combines in one device the functionality of a PLC, the facility of a sophisticated RTU and the flexibility of a multiport field comms gateway.
