Proximity sensors take over from electromechanical

Designed to replace the electromechanical position sensing switches on rising-stem valves, a new range of dual proximity sensors has just been launched by IFM Electronic.
The sensors have industry-standard plug-in connectors and are supplied fully assembled on a predrilled mounting bracket for quick and easy installation.
Compared with conventional switches, IFM says the new sensors offer longer life, greater reliability and easier interfacing with PLC-based control systems.
