ABB fulfils agreement

ABB is conforming to EU and US regulations by selling Elsag Bailey's US-based gas chromatography and mass spectrometry business to Germany's Siemens AG. The business had revenues in 1998 of around £315million
The sell off was a condition of the US FTC and the EC for approval of ABB's acquisition of Elsag Bailey Process Automation NV completed in January this year.
