Vokes renders water sterile
15 Jan 2000
Brecon Water, the Welsh based producer of natural spring water, stakes its business on the purity of its product. The plant, which draws water from four sources beneath the Brecon Hills, required a last line of defence before bottling.
Filtration and clarification expert Vokes was brought in to provide the final microfiltration for Brecon Water. Vokes surface and membrane microfilters are now removing sediment, visible particulate and microbial organisms from Brecon water.
Vokes surface filter cartridges are designed for regular absolute filtration with minimal extractables requirements. The pleated media construct and the large filtration area combine to produce unrivalled dirt holding capacity and high flow rates at a low differential pressure to extend filter life, claims the company. Vokes membrane filters are designed for effective organism reduction (0.65 or 0.45 micro m) or sterilisation (0.2 micro m) of process fluid.
