Sealless pump gains flexibility
15 Jan 2000
The addition of an 18in column to Serfilco's vertical sealless pumps increases the flexibility of their installation by allowing for greater change in the liquid level from the top of the tank, the supplier claims.
The pumps, which the company claims can run dry indefinitely, are suited to in-tank sump mounting or, more unusually, out of tank or remote mounting.
A compound centrifugal impeller prevents liquid from rising up the column so the pump may be accommodated externally without loss of liquid. This arrangement also frees up the working area of the process tank.
The all-plastic pumps are manufactured in polypropylene, CPVC and Kynar PVDF so they are suitable for handling corrosive chemicals. Typical applications of these rugged pumps are in metal plating systems metal finishing, fume scrubbers and effluent treatment installations.
