EA Systems flying high

A further step along the road to easier data exchange for process designers has been taken by EA Systems, developer of the PASCE software suite for plant design and plant lifecycle data management.
Under a technology licensing agreement signed in June between EA and Icarus, the PASCE PlantConcept module can now link to the Icarus 2000 process and project evaluation package.
The link eliminates redundant data entry and is said to enable easy evaluation of multiple design scenarios for chemical process plants. Used with process simulation packages and PlantConcept, Icarus 2000 provides front-end process designs, automatically developing PFDs and P&IDs.
Last month EA Systems was acquired by AEA Technology, also recent purchaser of the process simulation company Hyprotech.
