Pitot metering added to range
15 Jan 2000
Recently added to the Fisher-Rosemount range of options for flow measurement is the Annubar sensor, developed by Dietrich Standard. The Annubar pitot sensor meters flow by monitoring the differential pressure created by a diamond-shaped probe inserted in the pipeline. The probe is easily fitted simply by tapping into the pipe and welding on a fitting.
Used in conjunction with the Rosemount pressure transmitters, the Annubar is said to give high-accuracy measurements of flow and compensated mass flow, with an accuracy of +/-0.5 per cent over a turndown of 10:1. There are two versions of the meter available: the ProBar, which uses the Model 3051 pressure transmitter to produce a volumetric flow reading; and the Mass ProBar, in which the Model 3095 MV multivariable transmitter measures DP, pressure and temperature for a fully-compensated mass flow value.
