High-shear hygienic mixers

For the controlled environments of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food manufacturing industries, Silverson now produces a series of custom built, high shear mixers for hygienic working.
These range from a Micro unit capable of processing volumes as small as 5ml, to a special L4RT heavy duty laboratory mixer.
High speed rotation of the rotors draws liquid and powder ingredients into the workhead and subjects them to high shear force before the mixture is forced out of the stator. Ingredients become rapidly dispersed throughout the vessel, maximising yield of active ingredients and reducing partially hydrated material build-up on vessel walls or mixer shaft. The small wetted area of the workhead is suited to CIP and SIP requirements of pharmaceutical manufacture.
